2022 Roundup

We’re reaching the end of a wonderful year at GRIN full of great work, new additions to the team and an office move!

Taking a look back on 2022, we’ve put together a collection of some of this year’s highlights. Between brilliant work, exciting new clients and a bunch of socials with the team, we’ve had a busy year. Here are some of our best bits…

We’ve moved!!!
In August, we moved into our Fleet Street office in central Birmingham after working from home since 2020! We’ve been hybrid working ever since and it has been lovely to see the team, get back into the swing of tea rounds and fight for the high score on the arcade machine!
Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Festival

This summer, the Commonwealth Games took over Birmingham and the city was filled with sport, music, arts and culture. The Birmingham 2022 Festival was the biggest celebration of creativity ever in the region and one of the largest ever Commonwealth Games cultural programmes. GRIN are proud to have been a part of it by designing a high-end brochure with gorgeous print finishes that created a feeling of luxury.

Our designer Emily was also involved in the Commonwealth Games as part of the Commonwealth Collective, a group of volunteers working together to keep the Games ticking! You can read more about her experience in the blog she published earlier this year.

Welcome to the team Raihaanah and Annie!

This year team GRIN has grown! We welcomed our account manager Raihaanah in April and our newest junior designer Annie in September. Both of them have well and truly settled into the team and are absolutely smashing it everyday!

Verve Health
Verve Health are a team of experienced healthcare recruiters that help source healthcare professionals across the UK. We have loved working with Verve People across print, digital and motion to create a brand new look and feel for Verve Health which is professional, approachable and compassionate.
QEII
The QEII Centre is the largest dedicated conference and exhibition space in central London. This year we’ve worked with them across all sorts of collateral, but perhaps most notable is their interactive brochure. Using InDesign’s Publish Online format combined with some additional HTML input, we created a brochure that celebrates QEII’s offering with the help of scrolling elements, click-throughs and animation. We’re looking forward to further pushing the boundaries of interactive brochures in 2023.
Birmingham Design Futures

We are excited to announce our new partnership with University of Birmingham’s Business Engagement team to kickstart their Birmingham Digital Futures Brand journey. We’ve been working hard to finess their new brand and build their website, due to launch soon. We can’t wait to share more in the new year!

Algeco

Early this year, our longstanding client Elliot underwent a rebrand to become Algeco. We designed their new brand and rolled out the look and feel across a wealth of different assets and applications including the signage across their sites, their new website, video output and printed collateral.

Client visits

We’ve meeting some of our lovely clients in person this year after months and months of Teams calls! Being back in the office has allowed us to invite people over for a chat and a cup of tea which has been lovely. We’ve also ventured further afield to visit some of our clients outside of Birmingham. We recently visited Storm Technologies for a brand workshop in their stunning Watford office and were given a tour of Forest Garden’s Hartlebury centre.

Inspired Projects
We worked with Inspired Projects to create a brand that elevates their look through sophisticated visuals and an inviting colour palette. GRIN were provided with gorgeous photography that helped us to design work across print, motion and digital that showcases  Inspired Projects’ amazing developments.
GRIN socials

At GRIN, we try and get together as a team outside the office as often as we can. This year, we’ve played darts, been bowling, rock climbed, baked, attended design talks, entered virtual reality and, of course, eaten a tonne of food! We’re looking forward to another year of enjoying Birmingham’s offering of brilliant bars, restaurants and activities.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at GRIN. We’re looking forward to an exciting 2023!
