2023 Roundup

We’re reaching the end of a wonderful year at GRIN full of great work, new partnerships and new recruits!

Taking a look back on 2023, we’ve put together a collection of some of this year’s highlights. Between brilliant work, exciting new clients and a bunch of socials with the team, we’ve had a busy year. Here are some of our best bits…

New partnerships
This year we’ve collaborated with plenty of our wonderful existing clients but we’ve also added some newcomers to our list. We’re so pleased to now be working with Acorns, Ametros, Avove, Heartbeat, Mobile Mini, PAM Wellbeing, Pemberton, Reimagine Redditch, ReNEW and Sororum (plus a few others that we’ve yet to announce!). We can’t wait to carry on working with all of our fantastic partners next year.
ReNEW

The creation of ReNEW’s brand saw our entire team working collaboratively on a new look and feel for a brilliant organisation. As well as a beautiful look and feel, this project involved brand strategy, naming and positioning, consultations with local people and steering groups and a photoshoot too! We’re so excited to see what ReNEW do next now they’re equipped with their new identity!

Launches, launches and more launches

As a team, we’ve created loads of amazing work in 2023. Check out some of the work that has launched this year.

Welcome to the team, Sam & Nathan
GRIN is continuing to grow! In the Spring, we welcomed our Middleweight Designer Sam and our Senior Account Executive Nathan to the team. It already feels like they’re part of the furniture and they’re both doing such brilliant jobs!
Go team!!
This year has seen not one…. not two… not even three… BUT FOUR promotions within our team across the design studio and accounts. We’re so proud of our team for their hard work and their drive to progress in their careers.
Great causes

Both in and outside of work, we’ve volunteered, fundraised and invested in our local community.

Some of the team completed a 15 stage obstacle course through fields, woods, rivers and swamps to help raise money for our wonderful partner NICE.

Nathan and Sam volunteered to help Acorns build a quarter-mile long paperchain, raising awareness of the incredible work the charity does for children across the West Midlands!

We have continued our work with I Can Be, a charity that introduces primary school girls to women working in various roles to show them that their options are endless!

Thriving Thursdays

Thriving Thursdays have been such a welcome addition to team GRIN’s culture since we started them back in June. Once a month (on a Thursday morning), the team get away from their screens to get involved in a more hands-on creative discipline. This year we’ve painted, doodled, collaged, made linocut prints and carved pumpkins!

BCU partnership

We were so honoured to present an award at this year’s BCU degree show and, following this, have our talented award winner Harriet Allmark join us for some work experience. We have continued to work with BCU and this term we briefed the second-year design students on an exciting branding project – we can’t wait to see what they come up with in the new year!

Client visits

We love getting to visit our clients and, of course, having them over for a cuppa in our office too. This year we headed down to London for a catchup with QEII, had a tour of one of Acorns’ hospices, visited BDF at University of Birmingham’s gorgeous campus, ran consultations and a photoshoot with ReNEW over in Redditch and had a look around at Pemberton’s new London office (complete with hardhats!). Thanks for having us everyone!

GRIN socials

At GRIN, we try and get together as a team outside the office as often as we can. This year, we’ve danced at festivals, sang at karaoke, climbed, baked, ice skated, played escape rooms and, of course, eaten a tonne of food! We’re looking forward to another year of enjoying Birmingham’s offering of brilliant bars, restaurants and activities.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at GRIN. We’re so looking forward to what 2024 brings!
