Meet The Team

Meet Team Grin’s newest starter – Nathan!

Nathan has just joined us as a Senior Account Executive. We’ve been finding out more about him!

1) What’s your name and what is your role here at Grin?

I’m Nathan & I’ve recently joined the accounts team as Senior Account Exec!

2) How did you end up working in the creative industry?

I’ve been a creative person all my life, and as a kid I used to make YouTube videos & designs on photoshop. I got into photography & videography as I got a bit older, taking Media Production at Uni while doing freelance work for small businesses in Birmingham. Then COVID hit & I decided to switch things up, moving to the account handling side of things!

3) What do you like most about being an account handler?

Problem solving & organising. I think they’re some of my biggest skills outside of work, and account handling allows me to utilise these every day!

4) What is your favourite thing about Birmingham?

Other than Aston Villa? Probably just the city centre in general! Things have changed so much over the last 10 years & it’s really become a proper metropolitan city whilst still maintaining its character, I don’t think people from other parts of the UK realise how special this city is.

5) What is something that inspires you?

As cliche as this is, the idea of becoming the best version of myself possible is the thing that inspires me the most, inside and outside of work.

6) What are you interested in outside of work?

Sports & fitness take up most of my time outside of work. I’ve been a big football fan my entire life, and over recent years have become really invested in working out. I like having targets to work towards every day, and the sense of accomplishment that comes with improving.

7) Have you got any advice for someone getting into client services? What would you tell your younger self based on what you know now?

Keep calm at all times & remain positive. The way you think is really important in a role like this, and if you maintain a positive attitude even in challenging times, you’re so much more likely to achieve the desired outcome.

8) Plan B? If you weren’t working in accounts, what would you be doing and why?

Well, this one’s obvious, I’d be a professional footballer if it wasn’t for my knee injury. In all seriousness, I think I’d be some form of small e-commerce business owner. My Dad’s always ran small businesses from home & I think if I hadn’t found this career path, I’d likely have followed in his footsteps.
